New Schedules and New Resolves

I'm looking forward to this Sunday and the new schedule that will give us a chance to provide room to grow in the months ahead, as well as have everyone on campus at the same time each week.  I'm sure we'll be "tweaking" it in the weeks ahead as we adjust to the best for everyone involved, so be sure to give us helpful feedback as we try to put people before programs and plans.  (Notice I said helpful!)

Be sure to take advantage of the extra few minutes between worship or Bible Study (depending on your choice) to see and chat in the "gathering" area which will be located in one half of the Fellowship Hall.  This area will develop in atmosphere in the coming weeks, but judging by the response last week (when it was jammed) it has great possibilities to be a "meeting and information-gathering" area that will keep us together as one church in two schedules.

Remember, "In after Nine, Out before Noon"!

Resolving or just beginning this year?  Why not begin tracking with the rest of our church family and begin reading the Bible regularly?  We're beginning together on January 1 and will provide plans each month to do one of several plans.  One plan gives you the scripture text for the coming week and encourages you to meditate on it prior to worship each week, while also reading through the Proverbs chapter (Day 1, chapter 1, etc.) until you find a verse that God uses to speak to your heart each day.

A second plan gives you daily readings of one chapter of the New Testament which will result in completion of it by year's end.

The third plan is a multiple-chapter plan that will have you completing the entire Bible this year.   Whichever plan you choose, the result will be right on track with what we're doing this year as a church - gowing in grace through imitating the life Jesus lived.

We're starting Sunday!  I'm praying I'll see you there.

Kevin

Sunday's worship scripture?  Ephesians 5:1 and Exodus 19-20.  I promise I won't use the whole chapter!  It's an overview as begin a new sermon series.

New Year, New Beginnings!

I love the way God begins new with us.  Isaiah 43:18-21 reminded me of it this morning.  How wonderful to serve a God who leaves behind the "former things", encourages us to do the same and begins NEW!  What a good thought for new beginnings in 2010.

If you're thinking of beginning new this year, then why not follow along as our staff and church work toward "imitating Christ" (Ephesians 5:1)?  We believe it's the pathway for discipleship - just following "the way" Himself.

How to begin?  Let's read the Bible regularly together.

Let's read the Bible using one of the following:

Worship texts for this week are Ephesians 5:1 and Exodus 19 and 20.

Plan 1 for reading the New Testament through this year begins with

Plan 2 for reading the entire Bible through this year begins the first 5-day cycle on January 1 with Matthew 1:1-18 (the story of Jesus), Acts 1:1-11(the story of the church), Genesis 1-2 (the story of God's creation), and Psalms 1 (man's response to God's work).

Want more?  The basic prayer journal we gave out last year is available also this Sunday.

See you Sunday!  Let's begin a new story together with God!

Expectantly,

Kevin
