Our hearts are heavy for those affected by the recent earthquake in Haiti and for those in the Houston area who are dealing with the devastation from afar. We are praying that sufficient aid will be provided for the recovery of the city and more importantly that God will bring about Glory to Himself as those who have been left behind try to put their lives back together. We are praying that many people will find a relationship in Jesus Christ as a result of the many prayers being lifted up and the hands and hearts of believers from all over the world reaching out to the people of Haiti.
Right now, the immediate needs in Haiti, as far as what we can do, are prayer and monetary donations. We will be watching closely for how to offer specific help in the way of tangible terms. But, in the mean time, if you should wish to make a charitable contribution to relief agencies, we want to give you that opportunity. Below are two organizations that we trust as reputable ministries that will bring immediate aid to the nation of Haiti. These links will take you right to their websites where you can make your donation.
Samaritan's Purse-Donations Our church has worked with Samaritan's Purse for many years with Operation Christmas Child and from what we have read, they are already on the scene in Haiti meeting needs as best they can. www.samaritanspurse.org
Baptist Global Response-Donations Southern Baptist agencies like the Internation Mission Board, The North American Mission Board and several state conventions are working together through Baptist Global Response to send immediate aid to the people of Haiti. www.baptistglobalresponse.com
