Season of Service was a great success despite the rain that continued to fall throughout the day. 77 volunteers worked tirelessly to complete six work projects throughout the community. All four of the school projects were completed. The two home projects lacked only the painting in being finished because of the rain. In addition, several of our volunteers worked at the church spreading mulch after they finished their projects. Below are some of the pictures from Season of Service 2009.
During the week of November 15-23, over 200 of our KFBC members were involved in serving the Lord here in our community and around the world. 45 volunteered to help pack over 3500 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, 77 volunteered to complete six work projects at area schools and homes right around our church, 70 students and adults collected over 1400 canned food items to be given to The Mission, and over 30 volunteered to set up for and prepare our Harvest meal on November 22nd. There are many more of our church family that served the Lord in other ways. We thank each and every one of them for their investment of time, resources, and love to accomplish our church's purpose... to build a community of faith in Jesus Christ by living God's Word and loving all people.

We currently have a number of projects for Season of Service already with more possible. The date for the main project work will be Saturday, November 21st from 8 am to 5 pm. I am looking for some project coordinators, especially those who have tree planting and flower planting skills, since I have none. If someone could step up to evaluate our needs for the two landscaping projects, that would be fantastic! There are several small projects that have and will take place before the 21st of November. I will list the projects at the end of this email. Here is the timeline of activities…
We will also be looking for volunteers to prepare the breakfast on the morning of the 21st and lunch that day as well.
